Elena Ferrari is a researcher and urban practitioner based in Berlin. Her recent work focuses on the relationship between society and nature in the context of urban transformations. She has explored issues related to the socio-spatial trasformations of urban gardens (University of Lodz, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin), the socio-ecological transitions of Berlin's hybrid urban spaces (PhD in Urbanism, Iuav University of Venice), Berlin's eco-gentrification (ERC Postdoc, University of Genoa), and human-soil relationships (as co-creator of the Open Soil Atlas counter-mapping project). She is currently a guest researcher at the Landscape Ecology Lab in the Geography Department of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and works as a landscape designer.
