Between Soil Biographies and Soil Testing
Following collective soil experiments carried out in Europe and South America in recent years, the event explores alternative ways of learning about, sharing and co-creating knowledge on soil. The activities combine storytelling and practical experiences: participants share their personal stories linked to soil, reflecting on their connection to it, before taking part in soil analyses led by Open Soil Atlas ambassadors. The event aims to promote collaboration, the cross-pollination of knowledge and reflection on different ways of engaging citizens with urban soils. Each participant’s experience offers an opportunity to discover and celebrate the cultures and practices linked to soil.
The event was organized at Spore Initiative as an Open Soil Atlas meet-up, part of the Curiosoil European project, which explores diverse approaches to soil education. It was curated by Elena Ferrari, Anna Verones, Fenja Freiin Grote, Laura Kemmer. The event emerged from a reflection on new pedagogical approaches to soil knowledge, co-created with Ananda Kohlbrenner and Laura Kemmer.
